Position Overview:

The Certified Nursing Assistant assists with activities of daily living (ADLs) and personal hygiene for pediatric patients who are residing at home, in nursing homes or in a hospital. The Certified Nursing Assistant also gives support to family members and caregivers and reports any changes in patient status to the RN Case Manager. The CNA will travel within the Waukegan, McHenry and other northern suburbs.

Experience and Skills

Job Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Illinois CNA certification in good standing
  • Valid Illinois Driver’s License
  • Valid Auto Insurance
  • Ability to demonstrate good judgment with minimum supervision
  • Ability to function independently, organize and prioritize
  • Ability to work under pressure, multi-task and maintain a calm, professional presence in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions
  • Ability to maintain organizational confidentiality, which includes but is not limited to information about patients/families, volunteers, employees, donors and Agency processes
  • Flexibility to embrace change and effectively shift priorities
  • Communication skills, verbal and written
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Computer skills, including electronic medical records experience
  • Ability to travel within Waukegan, McHenry and other northern suburbs

Preferred Experience, Skills, and Qualifications:

  • Minimum of one year working as a CNA in a hospice environment
