Position Overview
The Staff Registered Nurse (RN) assesses patients and their needs. They manage the patient’s case and make appropriate suggestions regarding pain and symptom management in order to ensure comfort and quality of life. The Staff Registered Nurse (RN) educates and supports patients and families regarding expectations during the end-of-life process and is responsible for the overall coordination of patient’s care.

Work Schedule - This is a (3) 12-hour, day-shift position from 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. with alternate weekends.

Experience and Skills

Requirements for Staff Registered (RN) positions

  • Associates Degree in Nursing, Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
  • Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Illinois
  • 1 to 3 years of experience as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the healthcare setting, preferably in hospice
  • Experience working with patients of all ages
  • Certain positions require Pediatric skill competencies on an infant, toddler, preschool, school age or adolescent
  • Competent in pain and symptom management
  • Certified Hospice and Palliative Nurse preferred
  • Training in hospice and palliative care and pain and symptom management preferred
