Job Description:

The Human Resources Business Partner under the leadership of the Vice President of Human Resources will partner with leadership to manage, administer and implement HR programs and services to ensure effective and efficient practices to support a mission-driven and highly engaged work environment. This individual will assess business needs and partner with the HR Center of Excellence team to develop and implement people processes for assigned business departments; including performance and talent management processes, total rewards, employee relations resolution, employee engagement, retention, change management and implementation of agency-wide initiatives aligned to assigned business units.

 The Human Resources Business Partner's time will be split between our Chicago (River West neighborhood) and Glenview, Illinois office

  • Establishes and maintains business relationships with functional leaders by gaining understanding of agency/department needs and providing Human Resources counsel to support strong performance, productivity and employee engagement
  • Provides guidance and consultation to executives, physicians, managers and team members in the development and implementation of key agency employment objectives
  • Serve as the primary human resources liaison to team members for communicating, coordinating and administering human resources processes and programs related to benefits, compensation, employee relations, organizational development, succession planning, and workforce planning
  • Provides advice and guidance on the interpretation of human resources policies as they relate to team members
  • Builds strong, credible and trusted relationships with team members and utilizes human resources best practices to support the agency’s goals
  • Proactively identifies issues and initiates resolutions in line with agency policies and in support of agency direction
  • Monitors, analyses and reports relevant data to drive consistent process improvement and positive changes based on best practices
  • Coaches and counsels leadership on human resource concerns to manage agency and legal risk as well as support employee engagement and performance management
  • Conducts through investigations and participates in decision -making and issue resolution
  • Assists in change management projects and Human Resources related internal and external communications
  • Promotes and implements programs to increase employee engagement

Experience and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business or related field or equivalent experience in Human Resources
  • PHR/SPHR preferred
  • Valid Driver’s License required
  • Valid Auto Insurance required
  • 3 to 5 years of progressive human resources generalist/business partnering experience
  • Human resources knowledge including federal and state laws
  • Communication skills both written and verbal
  • Computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, internet, e-mail), voicemail
  • HRIS systems
