CERTIFIED NURSING ASSISTANT LEAD (RESOURCE CERTIFIED NURSING ASSISTANT)

 

The Resource Certified Nursing Assistant supports the Team Manager by; acting as a leader, role model and subject matter expert for clinical team members; assisting the Team Manager with leadership and development responsibilities; and providing patient centered care and collaborates with interdisciplinary teams for optimum patient/family outcomes.  The Resource Certified Nursing Assistant will also be a preceptor for onboarding new field team members.

 

Territory: Arlington Heights, Elgin, Schaumburg

Willing to travel throughout the Ruby Team Territory

 

The Resource Certified Nursing Assistant supports the Team Manager by; acting as a leader, role model and subject matter expert for clinical team members; assisting the Team Manager with leadership and development responsibilities; and providing patient centered care and collaborates with interdisciplinary teams for optimum patient/family outcomes.  The Resource Certified Nursing Assistant will also be a preceptor for onboarding new field team members.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Assists patients with personal care such as bathing, washing hair, painting and cutting nails, shaving, oral care, dressing and light house work.
  • Assesses patient's skin condition, weight, measurements and pain scale and reports any changes or issues to the registered nurse.
  • Makes the patients bed and assists with transferring patients as needed.
  • Assists patients with eating meals.
  • Conducts safety checks in regards to patient's environment and plan of care (i.e. carpets, oxygen tanks, open flames and electrical wires.
  • Educates family members and caregivers regarding personal care.
  • Documents each patient visit and phone call.
  • Attends interdisciplinary team and CNA meetings regarding patients and families.
  • Other duties may be assigned or required for the performance of this position.

Non-essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Orders supplies when needed.
  • Delivers supplies as part of the patient visit.

Experience and Skills:

Education & Formal Training Required:

  • High School dipoloma or GED recognized by the Board of Education
  • Training in HIPPA, Infection Control, safety, personal care and documentation

Certifications, Licenses & Registrations Required:

  • CNA certification
  • Valid Illinois Driver's License in good standing with auto liability insurance
  • Reliable vehicle with all valid registrations and licensures

Job Experience Required:

  • 1- 3 years of CNA experience in in hospice care, home care preferred
  • Bilingual is a plus

Specialized Competencies (Skills, Abilities, Behaviors) Required:

  • Certain positions require Pediatric skill competencies on an infant, toddler, preschool, school age or adolescent.
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Communication skills verbal and written
  • Experience using Hoyer lifts, gait belts, walkers, wheelchairs, canes, shower benches/chairs, electric beds and other medical equipment
  • Organization skills
  • Able to use cell phone, computer skills, voice mail

Physical/Mental/Visual Job Requirements:

  • Frequent bending, squatting, walking, standing
  • Frequently works under tight deadlines and with interruptions
  • Frequently working with confidential information
  • Frequently lifting and moving patients. May be required to lift up to 25-50 lbs frequently and move up to 200 lbs occasionally with the assistance of a gait belt or hoyer lift.

Working Conditions:

  • Possible exposure to communicable diseases
  • Frequently driving to complete patient visits
