Job Description:

This position manages Information Technology projects through the entire software/hardware implementation lifecycle from concept to deployment. Provides Information Technology solutions in support of JourneyCare Business and IT goals and strategies. Manages infrastructure projects like Server, PC, network and software upgrades etc., in a medium to large sized organization, serves as the project manager in overseeing entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) for new and enhanced business and healthcare systems. This position will also provide project management services to departments outside of IT, like Clinical Systems and Business Intelligence, running projects for those areas as well. In addition to project management duties, part of the job responsibility will be to fulfill business analysis functions including the gathering and documentation of business requirements, developing UI mockups and designs, developing test plans and communication/deployment plans. Projects will be run on time, on budget and delivered to meet quality and value standards. Manages the development and implementation of system documentation and system training for staff as well. Occasionally will also need to provide operational IT support.

  • Manage IT projects from start to finish, following the JourneyCare PMO project management methodology, process and tools
  • Provide technical project management services to various JourneyCare business areas including IT, Business Intelligence, Clinical Systems and others, managing the entire lifecycle of the project from Definition to Deployment
  • Manage technology projects that integrate business processes and patient-facing processes with internet, database and information systems (internal and external); web-based, cloud, client-server and mobile apps
  • Manage technology projects within project budget, scope and timelines while adhering to the business and technical requirements. Also responsible for the ultimate quality of the technical solution along with the rest of the project team
  • Perform business analysis functions such as requirements gathering, creating requirements documents, performing systems and business analysis, creating workflow diagrams and so on, during the course of managing technology projects
  • Manage the project team members and stakeholders expectations and help JourneyCare realize the project’s expected benefits
  • Ensure project teams are highly functional and successful through classic project planning and task management. Roles and responsibilities are clearly defined and project team members are productive on the project
  • Report weekly on project(s) status via PMO dashboard to include RYG status, current activities, risks, issues and general progress of the project
  • Design, develop and build cost-effective technical solutions that can be applied to JourneyCare’s business processes and patient care activities to improve efficiencies, add value to appropriate functional areas, contribute to the financial health of the organization, improve patient care and provide better products and services to JourneyCare’s patients, families and communities and other external stakeholders
  • Provide effective and timely communication to project team members, peers, stakeholders and executive leadership as appropriate including status reports, dashboards, project plans and meeting minutes
  • Work with the VP of IT and others to develop the processes, procedures & documentation to be used for technology and other business projects at JourneyCare
  • Work with external consultants and external service providers when needed to implement technology-based solutions

Experience and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree is required
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/Information Systems/Management of Information Systems is preferred
  • PMP certification from PMI is desired
  • Access to a reliable car, current driver’s license and liability auto insurance
  • Minimum 5 years of experience managing IT projects through the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
  • Minimum 5 years of technical project management experience with enterprise-wide healthcare and business systems implementations
  • Minimum 3 years of experience managing ‘Infrastructure’ projects from Discovery through Implementation. Examples include software rollouts, data center upgrades, networking projects etc.
  • Must have worked with both Waterfall and Agile project management methodologies
  • Experience leading inter-departmental projects
  • Experience in a business analyst or business systems analyst role is required
  • HealthCare IT project management experience is preferred
  • Must have the ability to work collaboratively to achieve organizational and team goals/results
  • Experience working with technologies like, MS SQL Server, SharePoint, EMR’s, healthcare, financial and BI systems is preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft Office 365 and Microsoft Project is required
  • Experience with SharePoint and Microsoft Visio is preferred
  • Understanding of Windows 7/8 and 10, Microsoft Office 2010/2013/365, iOS and Android devices, and Printers
  • Advanced understanding of Microsoft Office product suite
  • Experience with Project Management tools like MS Project, SharePoint, BaseCamp or others
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills; telephone and email etiquette
  • Flexible Schedule
  • Ability to use customer service standards to help others interpret policy
  • Thorough understanding of trouble ticket process
  • Excellent documentation and organizational skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills (technical and non-technical)
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills
  • Broad range of application, network, infrastructure, desktop, and mobile device knowledge is highly desirable
  • Ability to adapt to change quickly and manage several projects and priorities simultaneously
  • Excellent written communication skills including technical writing abilities
